Offering a subscription renewal has a benefit for both your organisation and the customer. For example, there is often no need to print a new pass, and the customer does not have to fill in all the details again. In order to renew a subscription, a number of things must be set up correctly. When a subscription can be renewed, which subscriptions can be renewed to, etc.
To make these settings, go in the Admin to Settings → Subscriptions → Subscription templates → Edit → Renewal.
Renew from
In the first field you enter how many days before the subscription expires you can renew. In this way, customers can, for example, take out a subscription for the next season 30 days before the end of the current season.
In the second field you can enter the number of days after the expiry of the subscription that it can still be renewed. If this number is zero, the subscription cannot be renewed after expiry.
Renew to…
A subscription can be renewed to itself, but you can also choose to renew a subscription to another subscription. For example, if a customer had a children's subscription last season, but is too old for it this this season. In a case like this, you want to extend a child subscription to an adult subscription.
You make these settings at the bottom of the page. By clicking 'Add subscription' you can add subscriptions that the selected subscription can be extended to. Please note: to renew a subscription 'to itself', it must also be added here. In the image above you can see that this subscription has also been added for the 5-journey card.
Pricing
Finally, to be able to make the renewal, you have to set up pricing. You can find out more about this here.
